What exactly is my 鈥渃ourse load鈥?
Your course load is the number of units you鈥檙e registered for, determined by the courses you've enrolled to in a given term.
- If you would like to complete your undergraduate degree in four years, you would need to complete 30 units per year. This could be 15 units in the Fall and Spring terms or could be spread out over the Fall, Spring and Summer terms.
- Since one course at SFU is generally worth three units, you would need to complete 10 courses per year in order to finish your Bachelor's degree in four years.
The perfect course load?
Having the 'perfect' course load simply means finding one that gives you balance in life both on and off-campus as you pursue your academic, professional and personal goals鈥攊nstead of asking what's perfect for you, consider what's right for your needs!
Your course load can vary
Understand that your educational needs, learning objectives and even life circumstances can evolve throughout your studies, and your course load plans can change along with them. You'll have to make a few careful considerations when enrolling in courses each term.
