Seeking Students
After you have completed the mandatory workshops, you will meet with your Coordinator or Advisor to review your job search documents, including your resume and/or cover letter.
Access to Postings
MyExperience is your one-stop-shop to browse, apply and secure Co-op jobs and sign up for co-op related workshops, courses and events. The system manages all job postings, online applications, interview notification, and interview scheduling. Check the Job Postings section daily since positions are posted frequently and may only be online for a few days.
Step 1: Gain Access to myExperience
Whether you're a new or returning student, you will need to enter myExperience (our online job posting system), update your information for the semester you wish to work, and upload your transcript from (instructions can be obtained from your home Co-op Coordinator).
Step 2: Applications
Application packages are uploaded and assembled in the Documents section of myExperience. Students must include the following documents (in this order) when creating an application package:
- Student Information Summary (SIS) Form
- Your Cover Letter written specifically for the position for which you are applying
- Your Resume
- Your unofficial Transcript
Step 3: Interviewing
Check your SFU e-mail daily to see if you have been selected for an interview and for other important communication from your co-op program.
- If you receive a message regarding an interview, sign up for an interview time slot in myExperience immediately.
- Students are encouraged to meet with their coordinator or advisor before each interview for interview tips and practice.
- Work reports from previous co-op students may also be available for review to give you further insight into the organization or role in advance of your interview. Please check with the Science Co-op Program Assistant in P9449 for work report availability.
