Entrance Awards
The Fall 2026 application will open on November 1, 2025.
Entrance awards are based on community contributions and financial need, and are available to domestic high school applicants.

Minimum Requirements
- Applying for the Fall term
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
- Grades in the 80% range in courses required for their primary program or the minimum IB diploma score required for admission
- Have a demonstrated financial need
Fall 2026 Application Period:
November 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026 (11:59pm PDT)
By submitting one complete application and supporting documentation, you will be considered for the following entrance awards:

| Lohn Foundation Entrance Award | $5,000 |
| Jack and Sadie Diamond Secondary School Entrance Award | $5,000 |
All Entrance Award applicants are automatically considered for SFU's Entrance Bursaries.
Instructions
- Download the PDF application form and complete it using (make sure you have it installed on your computer).
- Prepare your supporting documents.
- Submit your application form and required supporting documents by March 31, 2026 11:59pm PDT.
REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
- A summary of your achievements and activities demonstrating your involvement: provide clear, concise details about your volunteer work, school or community involvement, extracurricular activities, and artistic or athletic interests (500 words max)
- One (1) Community Reference Letter
Instructions for Community Referee
In your reference letter, please include:
- Applicant鈥檚 full name and SFU student number (you can ask the student for this information)
- Referee Information: your full name, email address, phone number, organization name and relationship to the applicant
- Please describe the following:
- The applicant鈥檚 contribution to their school and/or community;
- The applicant鈥檚 leadership qualities and potential; and
- Any other additional comments in support of the applicant.
