SFU has a thriving co-operative education program. Undergraduate students must commit to a minimum of 3 co-op work terms during their degree (min. of 1 co-op work term for graduate students). Co-op students gain experience working in the discipline and often make contacts that lead to permanent jobs after graduation. In Statistics and Actuarial Science, participation in the co-op program is optional but welcomed for both M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. Work terms cannot be in the last semester of a student's program.
