FASS Research

Postdoctoral Fellow Sally Sharif (International Studies) conducted field research in three border regions of Colombia affected by violent conflict, interviewing Indigenous and Afro-Colombian community leaders engaged in peace-building.

FASS research faculty members are fearless, innovative, and collaborative, continuously contributing to research and development. Our nationally and globally renowned scholars ask complex questions, explore society's critical issues, and continuously push boundaries through their research and community collaborations.

As one of British Columbia鈥檚 research universities, research is at the core of SFU鈥檚 identity and is a foundational pillar of the faculty. FASS encompasses many highly-ranked departments, programs, and scholars with national and international visibility.
