"I had heard a lot of great things about the Education Program at SFU."
I'm passionate about teaching, enjoy coaching and an advocate for Free the Children. I enjoy chocolate, Mickey Mouse, Lego and a good run.
Please tell us how you first discovered your program.
Through my Graduate Diploma Program, which was recommended by a friend.
Please tell us why you chose the Faculty of Education at SFU for your studies.
I had heard a lot of great things about the Education Program at SFU.
Who is a faculty member you have enjoyed working with and why?
Cher Hill because she is motivating, inspiring and she pushes you to reach your potential.
What do you miss most about your graduate studies in the Faculty of Education?
Collaborating with teachers from all grade levels, as it has helped to broaden my understanding and to change my perspectives.
What would you say to prospective students who are considering graduate school in the Faculty of Education?
The program provides you a place of support and encouragement, both personally and professionally. One which shows you that colleagues are facing similar struggles and one that celebrates strengths you weren't aware you had. You are part of an environment that allows you to try new strategies and to hear a variety of outcomes from colleagues teaching similar or different grades. The program provides teachers new perspectives and time to converse and collaborate with one another, something I find that is easily put to the bottom of our priority list.
Is there anything else you wish to share?
I've I have adapted and incorporated into my classroom.
