Admissions
SFU Beedie is a globally recognized institution that attracts future business leaders, creatives, and visionaries. We embrace a holistic admissions approach that values applicants as individuals, considering their full range of experiences and achievements.

Undergraduate degree
- An undergraduate degree with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0/4.33 (B) or a grade point average of at least 3.33/4.33 (B+) based on the last 60 credits of undergraduate courses from a recognized university. Please review the academic requirements for the country where you completed your degree.
- Unofficial transcripts are required from each post-secondary institution you attended where you have taken courses for credit.鈥 Unofficial documents are acceptable for the initial admission review. Official documentation will be requested only if an offer of admission is issued.
*Candidates can upload unofficial transcripts during the application stage to expedite the process.
GMAT or GRE
Applicants are required to write one of the following tests: GMAT, GMAT Focus Edition, or GRE.
Recommended test scores
- GMAT: 550
- GMAT Focus Edition: 515
- GRE: 155 in each section
At the application stage, candidates must upload unofficial test scores.
GMAT/GRE waiver policy
We will consider GMAT/GRE waivers for the Fall 2025 intake of the Full-Time MBA program. Applications must be submitted in full, including all supporting documents uploaded to the online application form.
Candidates are required to meet one or more of the following requirements to be eligible:
- Academic Merit with Quantitative Courses
Completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD with a minimum academic average of B or equivalent and completed a minimum of two quantitative courses in any degree with a minimum grade of B+ or equivalent. - Academic Merit without Quantitative Courses
Completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD from a Canadian or American University with or - Academic Merit with Enhanced Work Experience
Completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD with a minimum academic average of B combined with a minimum of five years of full-time post-graduation work experience. - Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (GDBA) from SFU
Started the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration at A片资源吧 and have completed 2 of the following three courses: Financial and Managerial Accounting, Business Analytics and Managerial Finance with a grade of B or higher. - Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from another institution
Completed a graduate diploma in business administration at a Canadian institution, combined with a bachelor's degree with a minimum academic average of B or equivalent, completed a minimum of two quantitative courses, and obtained a grade of B+ or higher in each quantitative course. Please note that course credits are not transferable to the SFU Beedie Full-Time MBA program. - Postgraduate Diploma or Post-Baccalaureate Diploma from Douglas College
Completed a defined type of Post Degree Diploma or Post-Baccalaureate Diploma at Douglas College with a 3.0 CGPA or higher. For eligible diploma programs, contact mba@sfu.ca. Please note that course credits are not transferable to the SFU Beedie Full-Time MBA program. - CFA Level 1
Completed any level of the CFA exam and a bachelor's degree with a minimum academic cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0/4.33 (B) or a grade point average of at least 3.33/4.33 (B+) based on the last 60 credits or equivalent.
GMAT/GRE Waiver Process
Applicants who meet the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth criteria must complete the GMAT/GRE waiver form and attach the form to their application.
Applicants who completed the CFA Level 1 can provide proof of their CFA designation directly to the GMAT score section of the application.
GMAT/GRE waivers are not guaranteed. Approvals are made on a case-by-case basis. If a waiver cannot be granted, applicants will receive a notification that a GMAT or GRE is required for their application to move forward.
Resume & work experience
Applicants should demonstrate a wide range of experiences after completing an undergraduate degree. Submit a current resume that includes academic experience, work experience, memberships in professional associations, and volunteer and community activities.
Traditional work experience is valuable but not required, as we value diverse professional experiences and community engagement forms.

You are required to submit contact information for two professional and/or academic references on the online application form.
Ideal references include your current supervisor or any individual with whom you have a professional relationship who can attest to your professional and/or educational journey.鈥
References must be submitted from their professional email addresses.
All letters of reference received at SFU Beedie School of Business, Graduate A片资源吧 will be treated as confidential and will not be shared with or returned to applicants or referees.

Personal reflection
The personal reflection questions are designed to help us get to know you. There is no 鈥渞ight鈥 answer. Essay prompts are provided in the application system.
Language proficiency
Please review the language requirements for your country of citizenship and/or the country in which you completed your degree.
The minimum university requirements for the test scores we accept are:

Note: Candidates below the English Language requirements will be asked to retake the test.
Three video questions & one written response
You will be provided with a link to the KIRA Platform for you to complete these questions once you have started your application. You will be asked four random questions which are designed to allow the Admissions Committee to get to know you better.
Interview
Once a complete application and its accompanying documents have been reviewed, shortlisted candidates will be contacted to schedule a virtual interview.
Pathway to the MBA: The GDBA
If your undergraduate performance is not reflective of your current ability, the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (GDBA) could be a good starting point on your MBA journey. The GDBA is a competitive credential that offers the rigour of MBA-level courses with more flexibility. Delivered 100 per cent online, your GDBA can also be applied toward a future MBA at SFU Beedie. Completion of 3.5 courses allows prospective students to apply to ladder to the MBA Program. The GDBA CGPA will be taken into consideration when applying to the SFU MBA Program.
GDBA students who have completed 2 of the following 3 courses: Accounting, Business Analytics and Managerial Finance with a grade of B or higher, are granted GMAT/GRE waivers.

Full-Time MBA applications for Fall 2025 are now closed for international applicants currently outside of Canada. However, domestic applicants and international applicants already residing in Canada may still inquire about applying by contacting mba@sfu.ca.

Step 1: Review application requirements
Start by reviewing the MBA admission requirements and begin to gather the required documents ahead of the application deadlines.
Step 2: Apply Online
Create an account
In this step, you鈥檒l need to create an account within our application system. Once your account is created, you can save your application progress and continue where you left off.
The application fee is $110 CAD for students with Canadian transcripts or $150 CAD for students with international transcripts.
Step 3: Upload your documents
It's time to upload your documents to your online application. Your application advisor will provide you with a link to complete a Kira video assessment. Upon completion of the Kira assessment and when all your documents have been uploaded, your application will be considered complete and will enter the formal review process.
Please keep in mind that we process applications as they are completed and admissions decisions are made between application deadlines. You do not need to wait for a deadline to apply. Extensions to the final round deadline will be given on a case-by-case basis.

Upon Acceptance
Within 14 days of receiving your acceptance letter, a non-refundable deposit of $2,000 CAD must be submitted.鈥
This deposit reserves your seat in the program and will be applied towards your tuition.鈥
Graduate students can pay by credit card through the graduate student online application system or through Flywire through the graduate student online application system.
After paying your admissions deposit, all applicants must submit official documents to complete their enrolment. Please see the detailed instructions below on how to request and submit these required materials.
Official documents
Transcripts
Official transcripts for credit courses from the Registrar of each post-secondary institution you attended must be sent directly to the Beedie Graduate A片资源吧 office. If the transcripts are issued to you, they must be signed and sealed by your post-secondary institution.
For transcripts not in English or French, an official translation must be supplied. An official translator must include, as part of their translation, a declaration that they received an official, sealed copy of the transcripts that they then proceeded to translate.
Transcripts may be sent electronically via a secure delivery service, such as Parchment, or directly from official institutional email addresses to鈥gradap@sfu.ca.鈥疧therwise, please arrange to have your transcript sent to the following address:

GMAT or GRE scores
Applicants must instruct GMAT or GRE to send the original score report directly to the MBA Office.

English proficiency test
For TOEFL, SFU's Institution Code is 0999, a departmental code is not required. Code for TOEFL results: Department code 01; Institution code 0999.
For IELTS, log in to the website of the IELTS test centre and click 'Apply for additional TRFs' in the left-hand menu of your results page. Fill out the application form online.
In India, the British Council is able to transmit electronically to SFU. Please use the following information when submitting your test scores: Organization ID 2036 - A片资源吧, 8888 University Drive, Burnaby BC, V5A 1S6.
For all other scores, please follow the鈥instructions outlined by our Graduate Studies office.
CFA
Further instruction will be provided on the CFA verification process once you have been admitted into the program.
The Early Career cohort is now a part of the Full-Time MBA. All applicants are invited to apply directly to our Full-Time MBA as discussed above.
