SFU Beedie welcomes new faculty members
SFU's Beedie School of Business is pleased to welcome two new faculty members whose research and teaching advance the school鈥檚 commitment to innovation, sustainability, and societal impact.
With expertise spanning sustainable investing, organizational strategy, and systems innovation, both faculty members bring fresh perspectives and global experience to the classroom and research community. Their work aligns closely with SFU Beedie鈥檚 mission to develop responsible leaders and drive meaningful change in business and society.
Dr. Anna Lukkarinen
Assistant Professor, Innovation & Entrepreneurship
Dr. Anna Lukkarinen joins SFU Beedie as an assistant professor in innovation and entrepreneurship. After obtaining her PhD from Aalto University, she served as a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University鈥檚 Department of Management Science & Engineering and postdoctoral associate at Innovation North. She investigated how organizations can advance sustainability and well-being, nudge by nudge. Systems innovation appeals to her as a bold yet concrete approach to addressing complex real-world challenges. Dr. Lukkarinen brings a blend of academic rigour and industry experience. Previously, she has worked on sustainability topics at Stanford University, Aalto University, and McKinsey & Company.
Martin Fuchs
Instructor, Business & Society
Martin Fuchs joins SFU Beedie as an instructor in business and society. Currently a PhD candidate at the Rotterdam School of Management, he studies how inter-organizational collaborations can advance corporate sustainability. His work focuses on sustainable investing and collaborations between institutional investors (e.g., shareholder coalitions). Leveraging insights from social movement theory, he examines how the participation of large, resource-rich organizations shapes the dynamics, tactics, and outcomes of collaborations for business sustainability.
We are excited to welcome Dr. Anna Lukkarinen and Martin Fuchs to the SFU Beedie community! Please join us in extending a warm welcome as they begin their journeys at SFU Beedie.
