The Practice of Writing

What you will learn
After completing this course, you’ll be able to do the following:
- Identify sources of writerly anxiety, and employ strategies to overcome them
- Give and receive constructive feedback
- Reflect on your ethical responsibilities when writing about yourself and others
- Maintain a reliable writing practice that helps you meet your writing goals
- Use freewriting and heuristics as tools to uncover new ideas and probe old ideas more deeply
- Work consciously with a writer’s everyday working materials (i.e., the collaborative and generative nature of the page, the body)
How you will learn and be evaluated
- Reading modules
- Participating in discussions
- Completing assignments
- Attending lectures
- Participating in the production of an annual anthology
You will be evaluated using a Pass/Fail grading scale.
Learning Materials
No textbook is required. We will provide all course materials online.
Technical Requirements
