Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation
The rapidly changing non-profit world calls for new perspectives, innovation and collaboration to navigate evolving challenges and opportunities. To meet these demands, you’ll need process-oriented approaches that are adaptive, inclusive, equitable, and focused on continuous learning. In this course, you’ll develop the skills to plan, design and implement effective and responsive evaluation strategies, including theory of change, data collection and data analysis, enabling you to measure your non-profit’s impact and use your findings to inform future initiatives.

What you will learn
After completing this course, you’ll be able to do the following:
- Analyze personal, structural and systemic factors that affect equity-focused, culturally responsive, trauma-informed and participatory evaluation practices
- Apply practical methodologies for program planning, monitoring and evaluation in complex systems
- Generate effective engagement strategies
- Outline emerging evaluation approaches that include developmental evaluation and principle-focused evaluation
- Communicate evaluation findings
- Identify evaluation standards, principles and codes of behaviour relevant to non-profit management
How you will learn and be evaluated
- Prepare to spend about 10 hours per week on coursework
- Expect reading and other assignments on a weekly basis
- Plan to access the course at least once every few days to keep up with your work and group assignments
