Ms. Monique Pongracic-Speier

Monique Pongracic-Speier, KC is a partner at Ethos Law Group LLP. She was appointed Queen’s Counsel (now King’s Counsel) in 2017.

She has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada in 2024 and 2025 for her work in the areas of Aboriginal Law/ Indigenous Practice and Administrative and Public Law. In 2024, she also received the Harry Rankin, QC Pro Bono Award from the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch.

Monique has argued significant cases at the Supreme Court of Canada, including, among others, PHS Community Services Society v. Attorney General of Canada, which secured a constitutional remedy to protect Insite, Vancouver’s first supervised injection site, from closure. Monique has also made significant contributions to advancing family law legal aid access in BC through constitutional litigation in Single Mothers’ Alliance of BC Society v. His Majesty the King in right of the Province of British Columbia and Legal Services Society.

She is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association and an Adjudicator with the LSBC Tribunal. She has acted as pro bono counsel for various community organizations, including the BC Civil Liberties Association, West Coast LEAF, the Community Legal Assistance Society and The Advocates' Society, as well as for individual clients.
