A year of growth and impact
Over the past year, Council members have played a pivotal role in advancing many of SFU鈥檚 priorities by offering insights, advocacy, and leadership through committee service and consultation. Highlights include:
- Revitalizing the Outstanding Alumni Awards to better reflect and celebrate the diversity of SFU鈥檚 growing alumni population and uphold SFU鈥檚 values of inclusivity and sustainability
- Nominating SFU鈥檚 next Chancellor, a key ambassador and ceremonial leader, for the 2026 selection
- Recommending alumni for Order-in-Council positions to the SFU Board of Governors
- Championing the Excellence in Teaching Award recognizing outstanding educators who elevate the SFU learning experience.
